What is keratosis pilaris?

Keratosis pilaris is a skin condition characterized by an abnormal buildup of skin cells. This condition can develop on any part of the body, but is generally most common on the legs, arms, and trunk.

The symptoms of keratosis pilaris are usually mild, but they can sometimes be bothersome. Symptoms of keratosis pilaris include itching, redness, and cracking of the skin. Spending too much time in water can dry out your skin and cause a keratosis pilaris outbreak.
